Build everything in Canva. If you use AI for images, text or your page, use Canva AI only. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other AI platforms are not allowed for the challenge.
Change the content and design to fit your business. An unchanged template, or a template with only the name changed, can lead to disqualification. Keep any supplied brand colours, fonts and logo that the brief asks you to use.
Keep editable Canva designs and screenshots of key steps. Judges may ask a team member to show how the work was created.
Use 1080 × 1350 px. Only the first flyer shown in your submission is judged.
Write your own copy using the business facts provided. If a detail is needed to make the design feel complete and the business did not supply it, you may use realistic placeholder content such as a date, time, price, offer or contact detail. The business can edit these later. Do not contradict supplied information, ignore an explicit restriction, or present invented customer testimonials or performance claims as real. Use supplied photos, images from the business’s linked social pages or suitable Canva visuals. Do not present generated images as the business’s actual products or work.
All three items are required: brand kit, landing page and flyer. The briefing is separate from your two-hour build. Any extra time, up to 30 minutes, must be announced for everyone.
Each criterion is scored from 1 to 10. The landing page and flyer each carry 40 points, for a total of 80. Your one-page Brand Kit is required, but has no separate points.
| What judges look for | Landing page | Flyer |
|---|---|---|
| Response to the business brief Uses the supplied facts, requested message and business goal. | / 10 | / 10 |
| Structure and communication Page: clear structure and user experience. Flyer: strong visual hierarchy and communication. | / 10 | / 10 |
| Visual quality and creativity Page: polished visual quality and brand consistency. Flyer: creativity and originality. | / 10 | / 10 |
| Execution and brand consistency Page: functionality and Canva Code execution. Flyer: colours, fonts, logo and imagery fit the Brand Kit. | / 10 | / 10 |
| Total: 80 points | / 40 | / 40 |
Use the lower score in a band when there are more gaps, and the higher score when the work is close to the next band. A missing scored item gets zero. All three deliverables must be included to be eligible for the shortlist.
What the business told us, word for word.
Nairobi, Kenya. Broadcasts to audiences across Africa (Nairobi, Lagos, Kigali, Johannesburg) and the diaspora.
Baraza TV is a creator-owned broadcast network from Nairobi, built for the social media era. We produce a weekly 60-minute news and current affairs show, Baraza Report, presented by two AI anchors, Amina Wanjiru and Jabari Adeyemi, plus shorter programs: On The Ground (creator-submitted field reporting), The Continent (culture), Builders of Africa (founder interviews) and African Screen (long-form film and documentary). We combine AI production with human journalists, creators and communities, and distribute on YouTube, TikTok, X and LinkedIn. Baraza TV is a project of Build Africa DAO. Our own domain, baraza.tv, is reserved but the site is not yet live, so our current channels run under Build Africa DAO (TikTok @buildadao, Instagram @buildafricadao, X @BuildaDao, Facebook BuildaDao, LinkedIn Build Africa DAO).
Primary: Africans aged 18 to 35 who are building something, in Kenya first and across the continent: creators, founders, students, young professionals, and community finance groups such as SACCOs and chamas. Secondary: diaspora audiences and event organisers who want African stories told by Africans.
Baraza TV has a broadcast identity (colours, fonts, on-air overlays) but no public-facing brand kit, landing page or social templates. We need: (a) a coherent brand kit that translates the on-air look into web and social use, (b) a landing page that explains the network in under a minute and captures viewers and contributors, (c) a flyer template we can reuse for each episode drop. We want it to feel warm and communal, like a gathering, not a cold news desk.
Sign up to "Watch the next Baraza Report" (email or WhatsApp reminder for the broadcast), with a secondary "Submit a story" button for creators who want to contribute an On The Ground piece.
The launch of Baraza Report, Episode 1, presented by Amina Wanjiru and Jabari Adeyemi: date, time (EAT), where to watch, and the show's promise of African news as utility.

Fonts: Bebas Neue (display), Barlow Condensed (labels), Barlow (body), JetBrains Mono (data). Voice: direct, present tense, African English, optimistic without being promotional.
Everything supplied is shareable: the network name, mission, program names, anchor names and likenesses, brand colours and fonts, and the scene stills. The contact email azizudinly20@gmail.com may appear in the designs. The WhatsApp number is for organiser contact only and should not appear publicly. No prices.
Please keep the anchors' names and appearance as supplied; do not redesign the characters. Avoid blue accents, globe or shield iconography, and aid-sector language such as "vulnerable communities". Do not present Baraza TV as a crypto media company.
